Free Children's Games

Where Were They?

This is a simple small child's game, created with the visual programming language Delphi.   The game involves remembering the position of objects so that they can be restored back to those positions when scattered at random around the play area.  There is a robot available to push the objects back into their original positions.

A screen-shot of the game is shown below:

The above screen-shot shows the game at the start of LINE-UP 1 with the teddy bears now moved at random from their initial positions that were shown after the NEW GAME button was clicked.  The player has just clicked the START button to scatter the teddy bears around the play area.

The purple robot can be controlled with the arrow keys on the keyboard to push the teddys back to their original positions.  If a teddy gets stuck against a wall, you can get the robot to pull it back from the wall by getting it right behind the object and using the letter P key.  The number of objects that are back to their correct place at any time is shown on the aqua coloured panel.  If a player cannot remember one or more of the positions, they can click the REMINDER button to to check on the positions that were originally occupied.

When the player has got them into the correct original positions, a yellow panel appears to confirm it.  The player can then click the NEW GAME button to play again with the same objects with the same original postions, but different positions after the start or click to get a different LINE-UP  number to try different objects in different start positions.  There are ten different LINE-UPs to try.
