This is a simple
small child's game, created with the visual programming language Delphi.
The game is based on the well known game of matching pairs. This is the traditional game of
remembering the position of matching pairs of cards when they are exposed and then covered again.
The object of this game is to remove all cards in the lowest number of clicks of
the mouse. When you click a card the picture on the other side will be exposed for a short time. You
then have to click its identical pair with your next click to remove them both.
There are three levels of increasing difficulty to play, with more pairs to
remember at the higher levels. Click the New Game button to set the
cards at random. There are 2 different themes and 3
levels of difficulty with more pairs to remember at the higher levels.

In
the screen shot of the game above the LEVEL is set at HARD, the ANIMALS theme selected and the New Game button has just been clicked to set the cards at
random. Clicking any card will reveal the picture of an animal on the other side for a short while. Clicking another card will reveal
its animal picture for a short while and if it happens to be the the same as the previous one they will both disappear. If it not the same then you go on clicking
the cards, trying to remember where each animal is so that you can remove all the cards in the least number of clicks!
When you have finished you can click the New Game button to set the cards
again at different positions and try and
improve your lowest score with another game. The game starts in the EASY level where there are 8 cards (that means 4 pairs). The
REGULAR level has 12 cards (6 pairs) and, as you can see above, the HARD
level has 16 cards (8 pairs)
(Note: To run the game, double click the downloaded file pairs.exe. )
